Kavita Sriram is an award-winning contemporary artist, conferred with theCultural Visa(Golden Visa ) by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, U.A.Ewith more than 10 yearsexperienceis driven by her passion and emotions. She is also the proud recipient of the prestigious Kalpana Chawla Women Achievers Award in recognition of her contribution in the field of Arts,by Science India Forum. Kavita was bornin Chennai, India and spent early part of her childhood in Africa. Later returning back to India to continue her education. Kavita holds a Master’s Degree in Public Relations. She moved to Dubai in 2000& U.A.E has been her home ever since.
In 2011 Kavita decided to nurture her interests in visual art and has never looked back. Having travelled the World widely, she has always had a passion & keen interest in various art forms & Cultures. She uses travelling as a great opportunity to explore and delve into the cultural influences and origins of the art produced in the various countries around the world.
Kavita likes to experiment with different mediums & techniques. Kavita’s paintings & art help her to emote her inner thoughts & express her feelings. At the same time both rejuvenating & relaxing her. Her art focuses on her perceptions, imagination, and feelings to create something unique. According to her, there is no one generic way to string together a few mediums. She likes drawing examples from different artistic disciplines that influence her choice of medium & genres.
The artist’s novel way of incorporating vibrant colours alongside different mediums & techniques, serve as her creative trademark. Thus making the audience perceive her subject matter with a positive perspective.
Kavita has participated in several Art exhibitions across UAE – Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, India & Turkey.
Besides being an Artist, Kavita is also an Art therapist , Art mentor & Art educator. She feels blessed to have had the opportunity to mentor Children of Determination and Work with Women & Children, both victims of domestic violence & human trafficking .
Among her private projects, she has been commissioned customised artworks for many high-profile private clients in UAE and abroad, besides which she also conducts collaborative and private Art workshops.
The artist’s work has been appreciated and featured in leading Print Media and TV Channels in the UAE.
According to Kavita, Art has no borders – it is very diverse & multicultural.
