Dubai Bird Prints – White Border – Set of 4

These beautiful birds can all be found in different habitats around the United Arab Emirates. The hoopoe has a special place in many UAE residents’ hearts with its distinctive zebra-like crown and comedic character, and the gregarious egrets are a common sight on the UAE’s landscaped highways passing away the days snacking on insects. The European bee-eater, affectionally called on our prints as ‘little red’ is a rarity in the UAE, overshadowed by its smaller cousins the Arabian green bee-eaters.  Little Terns, seen on this print nesting with their buddy for protection, shy away from urban habitats and are commonly found in wetlands and along the shoreline. Our four friends here make up part of the UAE’s 465 species of birds, a surprisingly rich number given the relatively dry desert environment.

This set of stamps was issued in Dubai in 1968.  The images have been lovingly restored and these art prints have been produced on luxurious 250gsm art matte paper using archival quality inks.
